The Australian Childrens Education and Care Quality Authority (ACECQA) has released the latest national report on the roll out of the National Quality Framework (NQF).  The report provides an analysis on children’s education and care services assessed and rated against the National Quality Standard (NQS) in Australia.

The standards are raising the bar on quality and the latest report paints a positive picture for Victoria overall with over 76 per cent of those service assessed having received a rating of Meeting or Exceeding the NQS; and over 23 per cent having been assessed as Working Towards NQS.

The report provides a valuable opportunity to benchmark our progress in implementing the national quality standards.  At this stage it is pleasing all of our services at ECMS that have been assessed rated as meeting or exceeding national standards.

The National Quality Standard raises the bar on what quality looks like across all children’s education and care services. It also places and emphasis on continuous quality improvement.  While our results are very affirming and positive thus far we will continue to work with parents, educators and children to look for ways to improve. Our endeavours in this area will be further strengthened in 2014 as we establish the Quality, Research and Service Improvement Unit.
