Hear from our people

I’ve been with ECMS for 5 amazing years now! When I began, I was the Centre Administrator at Altona Early Years Hub, working part-time. I also held a Diploma Qualification, so this allowed me to work pick up casual shifts on my off days which was great to continue working in the rooms. There are so many opportunities with ECMS, that I was then offered a Relief and Recruitment Coordinator role in the People Team in Support Services! This was great and I was able to build a different type of experience, learning different systems and processes.

Working part-time, helped me begin my Bachelor, which I’m nearly finished! Currently, I am the Assistant Centre Director at Altona Early Years Hub. The support and flexibility ECMS and Altona Hub are able to offer me has been amazing during my placement. Having so many centres in ECMS’ portfolio has enabled me to complete placement at different services and build experience on different sites.

Love working for a not-for-profit, the Area Managers and Practice Coaches are truly there to support whenever it’s needed. I never feel alone, there is always someone to go to and lean on. My career goals feel achievable with ECMS!

Stacey Thomas – Assistant Centre Director, Altona Early Years Hub

I’ve been with ECMS as an employee for 5 years and involved in Greensborough Preschool for over 10 years. I began supporting the preschool as a parent committee member and was part of the transition period of choosing ECMS as the early years manager for the service. My employment with ECMS began in 2019, working at Interlaken Preschool as a Diploma Educator while studying my Bachelor of Early Learning. I have enjoyed opportunities to work with the relief pool to support many different services across the organisation and as a fully qualified early childhood teacher I now lead the team at Greensborough Preschool in the role of nominated supervisor and teacher. ECMS provided great support for me to become a fully registered teacher, with mentoring and workshop opportunities with peer networks to make a smooth transition from provisional to fully registered teacher. I enjoy the opportunity to connect with different services and share ideas, collaborate and reflect. Early childhood is a rewarding career and having the networking support of other educators and support services helps to continue building on the quality of my pedagogical approaches. My career goals of early childhood leadership are achievable with the support around me.

Donna Leibowitz – ECT & Nominated Supervisor Greensborough Preschool

From my beginnings as a graduate teacher 10 years ago, ECMS has always fostered an environment that valued my professional growth. I have been continually encouraged towards my own professional goals, including exemplary teacher validation, and these goals have been met with genuine enthusiasm by managers and the People Team.

ECMS have valued my interest in mentoring and welcomed conversations to explore my skill growth and career pathways. Moving into a leadership role, ECMS have supported me to recognise my strengths and provided opportunities to help me reach my potential within early childhood education. I am now relishing being a member of the ECMS Practice Coach team.
